Onion rings with salsa dip

Ingredients:
Onions, machine sliced
Flour
Sparkling water
Salt
Curry powder
Tomato salsa
(see miscellaneous)

Method:
1. Slice onions about 6 mm thick and dry on kitchen paper
2. Mix 1 cup of flour, curry powder and salt and add the ice cold sparkling water until it forms a sticky batter. To check whether the batter is of the right consistency, dip your (clean) finger in the batter. You should (barely) not be able to see your skin, but still your batter should be liquid.
3. Slightly flour your onion rings, dip fully in the batter and bake until golden brown in the deepfryer (170°C)
4. Serve warm with tomato salsa
