In some ports, authorities may require samples of provisions. A detailed list of products taken away by authorities should be communicated to the ships caterer to be taken into account for your catering budget.
Always accompany the above mentioned port authorities and, in case possible, ask a senior officer to accompany you, this to avoid any discussion afterwards. Note as much detail on the samples as possible: type of goods, batch number, quantity, expiry date. Make sure to give these data to the senior officer for registration with the ship's caterer.
