Prevent your knife from ruining your cake or paté

Method:
Slicing a birthday cake or items such as fresh paté may be tricky. Often, the knife will stick to the cake, ruining your filling layers or will raffle your product. How to avoid this:
1. Most importantly: prior to cutting, sharpen your knife with the butcher’s steel.
2. Fill a container with hot water and keep a cloth next to it.
3. Before each cut, dip your knife for 15 seconds in the hot water, dry it and cut.
4. After cutting, remove any product from the knife and repeat.
